Elements of Art with Amanda Cobourne

Ready to expand your creative drawing skills? Each week, Local artist Amanda “Axle” Cobourne will take you through the seven elements of art: Line, Shape, Form, Space, Colour, Value, and Texture.Prepare to learn basic drawing techniques such as: Contour Drawing, Shading, Gesture Drawing, and so much more! No previous drawing experience required! If you are a beginner to drawing or are looking to enhance your drawing capabilities, this class is for you! Remember: Drawing is a skill, not pure talent!

Artist Bio:

Amanda Cobourne (Graphic Communications, NAIT: 2016 - 2017) is a Graphic Designer and Multi-disciplinary Artist. Originally from Edmonton, AB, Amanda moved to Kimberley, BC, in the summer of 2023 to be with her partner and start a new chapter in her life and artistic career. Amanda’s artwork has been shown in several locations around Edmonton, as well as featured in an art magazine in 2010. More recently, Amanda has taken up teaching and hosting figure drawing classes for the local community. Along with drawing and painting, Amanda has an affinity for working with her hands. Amanda’s handmade creations can be purchased through her small business “Axle Art & Design,” where she makes polymer clay and resin earrings, sewn purses, and shadowbox art with found objects, such as Barbie accessories, beads, and other trinkets. Amanda’s artistic style is a mixture of whimsy, surrealism, impressionistic, and a touch of the macabre.
